Rainy Days and Bridal Blogs

Despite a full-time work schedule, I still find a bit of time in the mornings and evenings to diddle around online for wedding inspiration. My favorite time to do this is on a rainy Saturday or Sunday morning, when my cute fiance is still cuddled up in bed (right now, my office is in our bedroom. That is changing soon.) It’s just stormy enough outside to prevent me from wanting to venture out to Starbucks, but a certain summer-rain-glow filters in the window strong enough that I don’t need to use the lamp, and wake him up.

This, to me, is the perfect bridal alone time. I have a home brewed cup of coffee-skim to warm me up physically, and an Internet filled with wedding tips, photos, and more to browse and enjoy. Some things get printed and slipped into the plastic sleeves of my Bridal Binder (which I will share with you soon, I promise.) Others get link-copied and emailed to my mother or groom for approval. And still others end up here, in my own working journal of this exciting process. This is a space to share the thoughts and images that I haven’t figured out how to file yet. And I appreciate the audience who enjoys sharing this space with me.

For today, it’s ice cream tasting cups and paper lanterns from Martha Stewart Weddings’ Pinterest. Tomorrow, who knows? Thanks for reading, and please keep sending me your own ideas and inspiration.

Who wants a stuffy, overly sweet wedding cake when guests can chow down on something that is tasty, summery, and refreshing?

One absolute must for my wedding: lanterns. I don’t know what shape, size, or colors we’ll decide upon, but the ethereal glow of a lantern is timeless and romantic.
